The School Field is an international journal of theory and research in education. It publishes papers arising out of formal research projects, theoretical and empirical papers contributing to the developement of educational theory and discussion articles on research topics. The journal is published twice a year as a double issue in Ljubljana, Slovenia by the Slovene Society of Researchers in the School Field and the Educational Research Institute from Ljubljana. The aim of the journal is to situate the issue of education in the context of contemporary theoretical debates by questioning its usual boundaries and discuss general conceptions that corresponds to current social changes and the developement of educational theory. The School Field exists from 1990. Volume.1 (1990/91) includes two normal issues. All other volumes include two double issues !

If the metaphor of The School Field has a political purpose, then, it is to reflect the projected openness of various projects and debates, their univocity and singularity, thus extending the theorization of educational policy in its various dimensions, challenging the coherence of confinements and the borders of established institutional structures, subjects, and imposed disciplinary forms.
